Getting Started

The poster says a lot about my services. I was trying to frame a picture for my wife and discovered that the cost at a framing store was extremely expensive. Having a frugal nature as a yard sale and auction devotee I gathered some box lots of frames.  Next was a trial and error process of learning how to dismantle, and repair damaged frames, cut glass, and cut frames to size. Now having a surplus of framed pictures I began selling them at my yard sales.

A friend then asked me to to create a decor for a newly renovated coffee shop/resauraunt of framed pictures that she would sell, and a business began.

Viewing the auctions got me interested in the misunderstood values of collectibles and I also started "picking" and selling through various venues. When you start this learning process, you never know what will grab your interest and a collection of "neat stuff" begins as well as a growing ability to do other things and repairs of odd ball items such as ceramic bulldog shaped toilet paper holders, or wicker baskets and lamps becomes commonplace. Eventually a friend with a knowledge of museum conservancy helped me learn some tricks regarding cleaning and repairing paper.

I have sold off truckloads of stuff to fellow pickers, at auction, and yard sales in order to clean out our previous house and retire on Vancouver Island.

I did bring a surplus of prints, frames and 'odds and ends' of neat stuff. I will now begin the process of downsizing and enjoying life on the Island. This blog will list some of the items available through my internet "Yard Sale" .

Please Enjoy!
